Dale Askew

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Askew was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1969. During his first ten years in public accounting, he became a Certified Public Accountant.

In 1980, then-Governor Robert List appointed Mr. Askew as the fiscal member of the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board, and in 1983, he accepted an appointment as Clark County Comptroller and later as Assistant County Manager, which he held for twelve years.

After a half-year hiatus as an executive with Mercy Medical Services, Askew returned to public service in 1997 when he accepted an appointment by the Clark County Board of Commissioners to the office of County Manager. During his tenure, he was named Administrator of the Year by the American Society for Public Administration.
